Burmese glass is an opaque art glass that comes in a variety of colors ranging from pink to gold. This style of Victorian glass was created late in the 19th century. The tale of its naming says that Queen Victoria was the origin of the name because the colors of the glass reminded her of a sunset in Burma.
The Fenton Art Glass Company, established in 1905 produces Fenton Burmese glass. The Fenton company is still ran by the Fenton family, now in the hand of third and fourth generation members.

Original Burmese glass contained uranium, for several years it has been difficult for glass companies, including Fenton, to obtain uranium. Therefore, Fenton Burmese glass with the original ingredients is rare, and rarity increases collectivity.
